i have just been given betahistine 16mg for tinnitus and vertigo
but i have yet to try it
can those of you who have tried it tell me:
did the betahistine make your symptoms go or did it make them worse?
how long before you saw any GOOD improvements?
what did the tablet taste like was it bitter or sweet? (strange question i know-but there is good reason why i ask!)

i am a real wimp when comes to medication.so your experience would be nice
please only answer if you yourself have tried it though

Sudden, But Constant, Ear Buzzing & Vertigo?

Hi there. 2 days ago my left ear started having a loud buzzing sound in it. I have also been having vertigo pretty bad along with the buzzing. The room will spin and I feel disoriented and dizzy. I got some "ring relief" ear drops but that’s not working, at all. Anyone have any advice? It has a kinda pressure/dull ache too.
I’d like to hear opinions on what caused this and how to remedy it….Thanks!!

long story and limited space, so i’ll try to keep this brief.

- Motion sickness since Aug. ‘06, mostly in the car, bus was ok, Sept., woke up with vertigo
- Went to doc, got anti-nausea meds, didn’t help, switched to ginger root, that seemed to control the motion sickness
- April ‘07, motion sickness worse, car, bus, even elevator, didn’t go out much, limited to walking everywhere
- May, pain, pressure, tinnitus in my right ear, which is weird since I was born completely deaf in that ear (left ear is normal)
- Woke up with vertigo twice, 2 weeks apart
- Braved the bus and went back to see my doc, he gave me a presciption for betahistine, which I’ve been taking for the past 10 days.
- Bus ride home from that trip was bad, vision loss, almost passed out, haven’t traveled since
- Since that ride, 10 days ago, the vertigo has been non stop, from everday to every 30 sec.,keep waiting for meds to work but they haven’t yet.
- some double vision, eyes rolling

What do you think?
more details, haven’t slept in 2 days because everytime i try to lie down and close my eyes I get vertigo, have an appointment with an ENT aug. 16th, long wait

Could this really JUST be anxiety?

Hi guys I’m hoping someone may be able to help me. I am an 18 year old female & for the past 2 months or so I have been very light headed. It’s not vertigo but it feels as though I could pass out. Along with this,I feel tired all the time sometimes I feel like I’m in a dream and I’m always with brain fog where I just don’t feel right. I seem to not be able to concentrate as well as I used to. I also have pulsatile tinnitus(doctors don’t seem to worry about it too much) I’ve had MRI’s of my brain also MRA because I thought I wasn’t getting enough blood flow to my head, I’ve had CT scans, Carotid Ultrasound, and blood tests.

What could possibly be wrong with me? I went to a neurologist, cardiologist, and an ENT. They all think it might be anxiety.
Right now I am going to another ENT who THINKS it might be BBPV…it’s just a suggestion, he doesn’t sound too sure though. He says not to worry about the pulsatile tinnitus…but the thing is that 2 days after first getting the pulsatile tinnitus I started getting the dizzy spells.

Could this all just be anxiety????
But could the anxiety cause 24/7 ANXIETY?
I meant 24/7 LIGHTHEADEDNESS*****
sorry about the typo.

Could this be an inner ear disorder?

I’m starting to suspect inner ear problems since I have suffered many sinus infections and such. I was thinking maybe labyrinthis(sp?) since I have all the symptoms. How do I get diagnosed with it? I am currently going to an ENT, should I go to a neurotologist instead because this ENT doesn’t seem to know too much about it.
