I went to the doctor and they told me i had swimmers ear, an ear infection caused by water getting into the back of your ear. i was given eardrops and about 4 hours later after taking 2 drops into my left ear i started to hear a rushing air noise, it has now been 24 hours since it started, is this just a normal result of swimmers ear and the ear infection or is it something that could lead to permanency, i’m really really scared and worried that it might be tinnitus, Please please please help!

    Ear infection spreading?

I’ve had an ear infection for the past 9 days, 6 days on antibiotics along with sinus congestion. I’ve had fullness and dull pain in my left ear along with ear ringing. I was put on antibiotic ear drops and augmentin since monday. All of sudden today I noticed in my right ear there was a sharp stabbing pain that is now coming and going. There’s no full feeling or hearing loss like in my left ear where the infection started. Just these sharp pains. My doctor told me to take the ear drops until I can no longer notice pain in my left ear which I did and to take all of the augmentin which i’m still working on. My left ear is starting to feel better, but now I’m having problems with my right. Maybe the antibiotics aren’t working?

Do I have an ear infection?

yesterday i had a sudden ringing in my ears. and today it’s still going. it was rally hard to deal with last night. it may deal with the loud music i listen to(which im now deciding to stop listening to). I had short little tinnitus but it always went away afterwards. but now it won’t. i feel a weird feeling going around my ears and in my jaw. and my ears have a little popping or crackling at some point. so can this be an ear infection thats causing my tinnitus. is there a way to cure it and have the tinnitus stop. im planning to go see the doctor tomorrow and hope he gives me some good answers. i hope.

Will I have tinnitus for the rest of my life?

I’ve had tinnitus for about 3 weeks now and until then I used to listen to my ipod at a volume that was loud enough to drown out noises around me but not loud enough to stop people from talking to me. I was given an electronic drum kit for xmas and i’ve only been playing for about 4 months at a middle range volume. The first time I went to the GP he saw that I had red ear drums and gave me some amoxcillin to get rid of the ear infection. After a week or so the infection went away but the tinnitus remained. My GP told me precisely what volume to listen to my ipod at during this stage however, I have stopped listening to it completely, due to the fact that I am worried that I will cause my tinnitus to become chronic. I went to a week after wards and wore earplugs but the tinnitus was still pretty loud after wards. My GP told me that after my ear infection clears up I should wait about 3 weeks for it to fade away. He also said that permanent tinnitus is rare in children (I am 15) so it is unlikely that it will stay. Is there a chance that I will hear silence again or is my life now ruined?
I took a hearing test before the concert and there didnt seem to be any hearing loss, as it was in the normal range.

when people say they got better, does that mean its lessened or its completley gone away?

I am a teenager and I have constant tinnitus. I got it during an ear infection a year ago and it has not gone away. I took hearing tests, and the tests say my hearing is perfect, and I can hear eveything fine, but the ringing bothers me. I have no symptoms of any other disease, so I don’t know what to do.

In November I got water stuck in my right ear and for a week I tried everything to unstop it ..nothing worked. So then my other ear stopped up and they both started ringing so I went to the clinic and the nurse said I had an ear infection.I took 2 perscriptions of antibiotics but they didnt help the ringing or unstop them.So I went to see a specialist and he washed my ears out…"they were clogged with wax"and they came unstopped and the ringing stopped in one of my ears. The other didnt stop ringing and then they both began to ring again. So I went back to see him again and he said he couldnt see anything wrong with them..he said it was a nerve. But they are still ringing really bad and they flutter and itch..they pop and crackle..

Has anyone ever experianced something like this or have any advice.???

It just started, so I looked it up and it sounds like I have pulsatile tinnitus, which is when you hear your pulse/heartbeat in your ear. Mine is odd, though- I’ll hear it for a few seconds and then it’ll go away, then come back a few seconds later. And the beat is irregular, sometimes fast and sometimes slow. Is this a serious problem, should I go to the doctor’s for it? I was put on antibiotics because I often get ear infections… should I stop taking the antibiotics because of this? Or could it be the result of yet another ear infection?
