I went to the doctor and they told me i had swimmers ear, an ear infection caused by water getting into the back of your ear. i was given eardrops and about 4 hours later after taking 2 drops into my left ear i started to hear a rushing air noise, it has now been 24 hours since it started, is this just a normal result of swimmers ear and the ear infection or is it something that could lead to permanency, i’m really really scared and worried that it might be tinnitus, Please please please help!

Hi All,
I’ve had this problem for 4 days now….my left ear is clogged and i feel a lot of pressure there…i also feel like its giving me some hearing loss since it so clogged. It has it sown heatbeat….lol…..and i hear noises like kind of a heartbeat in it sometimes….I have tinnitus, and hear that in there too….I tried jumping around like crazy, laying on that side to srain the ear, and hydrogen peroxide just now which I think just might have made it worse…I’ve also tried cleaning my ears out with q-tips, even though i know its bad to…but this is annoying and i want it gone!! Monday is the soonest time i can go to the doc. any suggestions or ideas for me? thanks.
thanks mcally ill try some gum.
thanks everyone for the advice! Im going to try everything. Ill let yall know what happens.

Sometimes when i go to sleep i hear a loud noise in my head, like a loud truck horn. Is it tinnitus? Can tinnitus have temporary occurrences as mentioned?

hi all
alrighty so ive had a ear infection for 6 weeks now ive been on so many meds and ear drops its not funny however my new doctor gave me penecillin and these new ear drops that are supposed to clear up ear infections they are called otocomb otic. They are a yellowy liquid that is really thick. i have tinnnitus in both ears from colds and flus. the tinnitus in my left ear has been going beserk because of the infection. SO anyway i got home and i put the new drops in like the doctor said and immediately my ear felt ful after applying just two drops. The noise of my tinnitus has increased a great deal and my ear feels sore. is this normal? is it the ear drops healing my ears? My doctor said the drops are really good. should i keep taking them?

ok so about 11 months ago at christmas time i had a really really bad flu where i couldnt move for ike 6 days and my head was congested. then like a week after it cleared i went swimming and got myself and ear infection in the left and right ear, i got antibiotics and drops. a week after been on the drops i was lying in bed and randomly a high pitch ringing sound started. the infections took ages to heal. The ringing went away. But just about 2 months ago i noticed it again after i had swine flu. Ive been to docs about 10 times they gave me drops and said i had an ear infection in my left ear.. now my left ear is almost healed so the high pitch sound is getting loud then going quiet again. The only time i can notice my right ear is when i put my finger in my ear and block off all noise its a kinda rushing high pitched noise. Its a completely different sound to my left. Has anyone ever had ringing for a couple of months then just goes away until you get sick again? that seems to be whats happening when do youi think my ringing will stop? I have an ENT appointment in a month
na i havent noticed any hearing problems at all.

I have suffered with this high pitch ringing sound in my ears mainly the left one for one year now.It all started after a bad cold last year, its the ringing gets better but it is always there. When its really bad its like someone just flicked a switch and this high pitch noise starts. It then brings on panic attacks and starts to really freak me out. I have been to every doctor and specialist out, even had brain scans but nothing is wrong. Can anyone please give me any help if you know of anything that may relieve this horrible lifestyle. When its really bad I also feel pressure in my ears, one starts thinking that your having a heart attack and things like that, I feel like I am going mad, wouldnt wish it on my worse enemy. So if any of you out there have this and know of anything that may help, please do tell.Bye the way I have tried the tea’s and pills, etc etc, even tried Hyno, and massage. Nothing works.
