What could be the cause, and what can be done? They prescribed medication to relieve the spasm, but it’s still happening. It seems more prevalent after swallowing or yawning. The doctor said my ear drum and eustachian tube look fine. I have tinnitus, too. Please help!
yesterday i had a sudden ringing in my ears. and today it’s still going. it was rally hard to deal with last night. it may deal with the loud music i listen to(which im now deciding to stop listening to). I had short little tinnitus but it always went away afterwards. but now it won’t. i feel a weird feeling going around my ears and in my jaw. and my ears have a little popping or crackling at some point. so can this be an ear infection thats causing my tinnitus. is there a way to cure it and have the tinnitus stop. im planning to go see the doctor tomorrow and hope he gives me some good answers. i hope.

My ear started hurting and feeling strange a few hours ago…
Beginning symptoms:
1. Ringing in my left ear
2. Felt clogged as if I was flying in an airplane or scuba diving…like it needed to be ‘popped’
3. I have not dove in the past year and flew about 3 weeks ago with no problems
4. have lost most of my hearing in that ear. The sensation is similar to when wearing earplugs (but only in the left ear and very suddenly)
Graduated symptoms:
1. after a couple hours, I felt the pressure gaining intensity
2. the pressure remains at its current level, (intense, annoying, slightly painful) without causing extreme discomfort.
3. hear is still at a minimum in the left ear
Future:
I am growing concerned because I have tried all the home remedies that I am aware of…and nothing has helped. I am not the type of person that worries over nothing.
I am open to any and all suggestions, but please be sincere. I am very concerned about this medical problem.
Thanks for your help
Unfortunately, I do not have medical insurance. Is there something I can do at home? If not, I can wait it out. I just don’t want to do permanent damage to my hearing.

Or does it just calm you down if you get mega panic attacks?
Because I am deeply scared of any kind of mindaltering medication, but I have anxiety from past trauma and constant tinnitus/chronic illness and sometimes get so extremely tense and panicked that I have to take it just to relax.. But I don’t want to risk losing myself..
Btw.. I am not dependent on it nor do I find it addictive, I take it rarely
sometimes when im sitting in total silence at my computer reading manga, all of a sudden it seems like a faucet just turned off and then i hear a high pitched ring in one ear for about 4 seconds. it only happens once in a while, but im just curious as to what it is, and if anyone else has had it happen.
